Fence Jumping Husky

zeekhaus Apr 28, 2007 01:06 PM

I have a 6 foot fence which encloses a 1 acre area for my 4 huskies. I have one husky, who is now 7, who likes to jump the fence & run. We have added Invisible Fence around the Fenced in area as well...but it doesn't even slow him down (he has on not one but two "bad boy collars" & still jumps the fence). I hate to put him on a leash or in a cage...but I am running out options.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Check with a farm supply store or feed store in your area. They used to sell fence extenders. They attach to fence post, makes the fence taller, and also can be tilted inward. If they no longer make these, you could make them yourself, just be sure you tilt top in towards the yard, not out. Either way if you can not make the fence a straight jump up, might deter them from going over.

What kind of fence do you have?
