Thanks for reading my post - we have a 16week male dobie - ears are standing, but, have a tend to stand / then lay on top of the head / criss cross - again, they do straighten a tad when he is VERY alert..but, the majority of the time - ears are crossing over his head..will this fix itself?? Strange that his ears were perfectly up-right just a few days back - now they are laying on top?? I do not want to "re-tape"...

Suggestions / Opinions welcomed - Thanks!

Relax, tape the ears every 3-5 days for 6 months or untill after teething. sometimes 7 months to a year but the reward is worth it.I would massage ears for a few min. after taking tape off then let him run around for a little while before retapeing.
Lengh of time also depends on type of cut. be patiant and retape if they start to flop after a little while.

well, if you don't want to keep taping then get used to looking at them the way they are now.

If you are willing to keep taping, then keep at it. The ears are not done. Make sure that you stretch them up when you post and DO NOT do the brace too tight till the ears point at each other - the brace should be loose.

Can you post a picture of them?

Just wanted to say thank you for the advice - Agree, the ears are not done & I will continue to tape & fyi - the pup does not mind at all (just my wife) At any rate, great advice / support - I'll continue to tape & will try and post a pic or 2 soon... He is a terrific dog - about 16 weeks - fawn colored, very dark rust patches. He might be very big - he just seems to be big/tall for his age - must be 40lbs??

Thanks Again 2 All.
