Our Girl Has Arrived

moncheri May 08, 2007 08:14 AM

Ok I gotta brag! As people here on the Akita know I am the owner of the beloved Shelby posted here in the Bio of Akita's on the message board hearder. And we lost her in Feb after 10 1/2 years.

I so adore this breed I chose to bring another girl into our life.

Here she is at 8 weeks old our little Shyann!
And she is an absolute dream! We are actually planning our first adventure of the show ring with her. As she comes from a line of Champions.

Shyann has fit in extremely well with our gang of girls my 7 month old Hailey (mixed breed rescue) & our two cats Lily & Lucy (also rescue kitty's)

Needless to say we are are living on cloud nine right now.
We plan to AKC register her a Day Dream's "Living Dream"
as she is proving to be our living dream.

May Shelby rest in peace as she gave us so many years of dedicated devoted love we could never live without an Akita in our lives!

Our Baby Shyann........

Shyann is beautiful! You'll never forget Shelby, but now you have something/someone to smile about! Congratulations on your new puppy and best wishes for the fun ahead!

You could say you can't wipe this smile off my face right now.

We are looking forward to many many years!

CHERI!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! Shyann is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! You really have to be just thrilled and I am soooo jealous. I certainly hope you post more than one picture! LOL I'm also going to be looking for some updates on this little cutie as she trains for her show career. Maybe I'll see you at a show around here. I do believe that Shelby had a little something to do with Shyann coming to live with you and I can just see that big Akita grin she has to have.

Thanks so much Bob! I am in awe with Shyann myself everyday. She is doing extremely well with adjusting to our home with Hailey & the kitty's. Actually I think Hailey is a bit anxious with her here, as to be expected. Hailey isn't eating as well as I would like and her stool is very loose. But Hailey is very focused on her new buddy so I'm hoping she is just so excited and still adjusting it hasn't even been a week so I will keep any eye on her.

Photo's have been slow since they are playing so much I get a blur when I try, LOL! Or I'm getting alot of sleepin photo's.
But I will try and get more soon, they grow so quickly!

Do you show you're Shiba's? Are they UKC or AKC?

Well back to pups you know we have two pups with Hailey only being 7months and Shyann at 2 months they are keeping me busy right now. But its alot of fun!!!!

Cheri, believe me when I say I know how hard it is to get pictures of the dogs! lol Seems I'm always getting their backsides!! I'm sure Hailey will come around and return to normal the more she is around Shyann and becomes more comfortable with her being there.

I don't show my Shibas but do frequent the shows in the area, especially the huge show here in NY at the end of September. Keiko and Toshi are from rescue and were altered before I got them. Toshi I'm sure was registered by her previous owners but I don't have any paper work on her. Beni is a retired major pointed AKC champion. I adopted him when his breeder... my rescue contact... was dying of cancer. He had quite a distinguished show career and in 2000 came from nowhere to beat 5 other national champions. His full name is CH High Ridges Beni Tatsumaki. I have this photo of Beni and his breeder Valerie Whitely hanging on my wall here from that day....

Wow Beni is very beautiful!

The show thing is new to me but I decided to try if for my breeder who I really adore. We have no plans to breed it would be to own Shyann's Championship and for her mom to earn her ROM.
And for a personal experience & socialization for everyone.

A new adventure.

Bob,
Shyann is doing great! She is filling out fast. Hee...hee..I think I should have named the girl TANK. She is fitting right in with our gang Hailey,Lily & Lucy.

I'm bad at photo's but I did manage to take some yesterday at 8 weeks old. She doesn't sit still long enough for a photo, no surprise. Especially with another pup in the house with Hailey only being 7 months old they are keeping each other busy.

I need to add Shyann to my signature!!!!

Thanks so much for asking!
Here are a couple of photo's

Cheri I'm probably going to be asking a lot!! LMAO Shyann is soooo cute and I really just love Akitas. I'll just bet she is beginning to fill out fast. The pictures are absolutely terrific so keep them coming and when you have some time you'll have to put up a picture or two of Hailey. Thanks!!

Bob this picture was taken the same day as Shyann and Hailey is now 7 months old. She was one of my fosters last year that stayed! She is a sleek medium sized Heinz 57 All American Girl.
We adore her!

Cheri... Hailey is beautiful! Her markings remind me of Shemp my Springer mix who I lost about 5 years ago.
