Very frustrated

I have a 1 and a half year old female great dane. We have had her since she was 13 weeks old. The problem is that despite bringing her out and giving praise and treats since she was a pup and she knows what "go potty" means she will still pee in the house. I know she can hold it cause she is fine for 8-10 hours at night and we have had her spayed and checked for bladder problems a couple times and there is nothing wrong with her. I'm about to lose my mind. Any suggestions?

Has she ever been reprimanded for going in the house? IF she's ever been scolded or frightened for that act, that is a quick way to undo and training already done.

If that's not the case, then you jsut need to practice more confinement and possibly she needs a system where she rings a bell or does something to indicate to you she needs to go outside.

Nope we just yell "no" and take her outside. The last time she peed in the house my husband and I were making dinner and she was in the kitchen with us and she just squatted and peed right in front of us and when we yelled "no" she just looked at us like "what?"

Does she go out on a regular schedule? (Every couple hours until she understands.) The other thing would be to clean up her pee with a cleaner like Nature's Miracle, which takes the scent out, so she's not marking over her own scent. Also, when she "goes" outside, be sure to praise her: "Good going potty." My guess is that you already do these things, but if not, they're worth a try.

Do you think saying NO and then going outside might be confusing. Wipe up with a paper towel take dirt paper towel outside with the dog. Clean the wet spot in the house. But like was mentioned a schedule is the best way to get in a good habit.

Just my thoughts.
