G. Pardalis Babcocki, or G. Pardalis Pardalis, that is the question.

While researching these tortoises, I have found an incredilble amount of ambiguity regarding personality, hardiness, coloring.
I understand the differences of locations, but that's about it. The differences in most text's is simply a blurb regarding one of the above issues.

I am looking for anyone who had direct (or factual) experience with both sub-species. I have gone through most texts, and pretty much all the caresheets you can find. Before I make a final decision, I'd love some experiential imput.

Thanks for everyones great posts. This is my favorite site on the internet.

If you have a choice go for the pardalis pardalis. They tend to be more outgoing but as with any tortoise there are exceptions. I've got some leopards from the northern part of their range that are also outgoing but the p. pardalis is pretty consistant.
The hard part is finding true p.pardalis and not hybrids.
