I received a call from the vet's office today. My 3yr old dachsund mix, rascal, has tested strongly positive for myasthenia gravis with megaesophagus.
He will most likely have to take meds for life and eat sitting up - which I have already started and it seems to be helping greatly - that is the sitting up eating part.
I have an appointment to meet with the vet next week to discuss the medications and what this will entail for rascal and myself.
Is there any other way, besides medications, to keep this under control?
