ladyleo57 May 20, 2007 04:13 PM

this is hard to explain my miniture schnauzer has developed some strange symtems even the vet cannot figure out maybe some one here has had the same experience and can help.

it started with major change in the household , mother in law 90 broken hip. her dog 19 year old poodle deaf and blind. after 2 weeks of them living with us our schnauzer charlie has developed stiffening of the neck lifting front legs one at a time and like bloating of the neck, she is coherent can eat and drink but cant turn her neck or lay down and pants. these last about 20 minutes and then she is back to her old self. since then the poodel is gone but the symtems still occure every couple of days. blood work showed nothing except elevated liver enzyme slight. ruled out cushings and other things vet did research and came up empty.

please advise im desparate.

Could your dog have gotten into any of the medication that your grandmother was taking? The symptoms are very strange. I'm sorry. I hope others can help out.

All you have done and found not problems then I would go to a specialist.

I had a dog years ago that had a lot of those same symptoms. I took her to a specialist and they found she had a slipped disk in her neck.

Quite screwing around! She can have one asprin a day 325g.

It's time you take her to a team of dr's who will know what is wrong. If she were my dog, I would take her to Dr. Ettinger's practice a team of specialists at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, 1736 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, Suite #B 310-479-3336.

Standard Vets are good for spay and neuter, shots, micro-chip, removing fatty tumors, nail trim. Anything of real importants and they can't help, but what they should do and don't is, refer you to a specialist! As here you are, on this list asking for help! Take action and go get help for your girl from the best!

You already know its time for a experienced Vet who will give you an answer. Rather than keep coming back and them charging you, for No answer. You don't want someone to trouble shoot your dogs symptoms do you?

Take care,
La Ree
