Salmon Oil

abukuchick May 28, 2007 10:03 PM

I have started giving my two chihuahuas salmon oil to help with their skin and coats. I was wondering if it was possible to give them too much. I usually let them free feed in their crates (too make sure no one over eats) and give them 1/2 cup to share with 2 pumps (one for each of them as the label says)of the oil. Sometimes they get a little more, or one will eat most of the 1/2 cup with the oil. Is it ok to give them a little more than the label suggests?

If they are getting too much, it might cause loose stools.

So do you think that I should use that as an indicator, back it off if they get looser? Is there any other consequence to it I should look out for? I have noticed on the days I think I over do it they do tend away from their usual perfect poops....Thanks!

That works well as an indicator.
