We have two dogs, one is 10 years old and another is 5 years old.
We had been feeding them so-called high quality dry food for years, but also my husband used to give them junk food like fast food, ice cream, etc. because "they LOVE it". (sigh)
I've been slowly trying to switch to raw diet, and I've been reminding my husband not to give them any junk food.
Last Saturday the 10-year old dog got sick and had bad diarrhea. She vomited twice within a couple of hours. Ever since then she's been a little bit lethargic and has less appetite than usual (she still eats whatever I give her though). She's always had ear problems, and now she shakes her head a lot and itches her ears (especially the right one), too. Also she has very mild arthritis on her back leg, and it seems a bit more stiff than normal. Even though she's still ready for any activity like taking a walk and jumps right in the car for a fun ride, it seems that everything weak about her is coming out right now. She has greyish dischard on her both eyes and itchy skin as well. She eats grass a lot, and about 10 minutes ago she was again eating grass out in the back yard (no pesticide used there, by the way) and got sick. Nothing really came out, just white foam? kind of stuff.
Then the other dog, he keeps eating grass a lot, too. He's been having soft stools lately, a couple of days ago he had diarrhea, but now it's been soft with mucus. But he has great appetite and great energy.
Why are both of them like this all of a sudden? What should I feed them now? Should I go back to kibbles? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
