Please, i'm desperate for some advise and HELP!! My new chi is now 5 months old and i had him for about 2 months now. I've been trying to train him on a puppy pad and sometimes, more rarely he goes and pees at the right place but more often he does it anywhere in the house... I never got him a cage because i have another chi who is 3 years and he is fully trained to go pee and pooh on the puppy pad.
Now my puppy also more often then not eats some of his pooh! I've had 2 other chi's in the past who never had this problem, so i don't know what to do! It seems to me it was easier to train my first two chi's on the puppy pad too.

Please help me with some advise.

Sicerely Tania

Every dog is different and when a method doesn't work, new ones need to be tried.

For this pup, maybe he'd prefer a litter box instead of a pad? The larger more obvious box might be easier for him to realize it's where he needs to be. Also, what's wrong with teaching him to go outside?

Crate training is also a nice tool to use for potty training. Your pup is confined when you can't watch his eliminations and you can put him on a very rigorous schedule to set him up for sucess and show him exactly where he needs to go.
