urt Jun 25, 2007 10:10 PM

i have a neighbor who has a 7 month old german shepard/rot mix. and she isnt home enough to really take care of the dog and she has offered me to have it for free if i want it. the dog is beautiful and i do want it, but i dont know too much about the mix and she doesnt know much either. any owners or dog lovers that can share some info about the mix such as size, behavior(overall and with children and cats). thanks

From my experience with mixes, they tend to get traits from both sides of their family tree. So, I'd look up German Shepherds and Rottweillers. I'd expect the traits to be a blend of both, but knowing each breed individually will help you figure out your dog. So take the extremes from both breeds and that is your benchmark on where to start. Your dog will probably fall somewhere in the middle.

Totally agree with last poster, Chelle.

Can you bring the dog to your home for a trial meeting?
What does the dog most look like now? Have you been around the dog much?

Love to see pictures.
