We are thinking of buying two Cavs at the same time from the same litter because we've heard that they do not like to be alone and we work. Any comments about any disadvantages of getting two dogs at the same time?

I don't have a CKCS but have read that they shouldn't be left alone all day as they love companionship and are eager to please. Having another dog would be plus so they could keep each other company. Another thing I have read and that is getting two pups from the same litter. They develop a bond with each other that at times cannot be broken. Sometimes it's harmful not only for the dogs but humans as well. Now it is a doable situation but requires twice the work since it is up to the owner to let each pup develop their own personality. This means crating them in seperate crates, walking each dog on their own and them again together, feed them seperately, take them to the vet seperately and even take them to obedience school at different times. In a nutshell you want both dogs to have their own space and look to you as their leader. By doing all of this when the dogs are still pups you will be rewarded later with to great dogs.
