Hi - I'm looking for general breed information on behalf of a friend who is looking for the right breed as a companion for later on when she retires. It will be a very good home.

I'm strictly hounds (Greys and Pharaohs) so I know little about other breeds, just assisting my friend with her search.

So can anyone recommend some reading materials? Give us some general as well breed-specific info that might influence a decision?
