bee sting allergy?

duckie42 Jul 13, 2007 10:49 PM

My sweet 1 1/2 yr old beagle mix got stung by a bee last night. The swelling went down quickly, but tonight we found bumps all along her trunk. Anybody know what this could be? Maybe hives, allergy...? I don't know what to do, but they seem to be itching her quite a bit. Anybody have any ideas or experience?

Just wondering if your dog may have gotten stung by more than one bee? It could be a reaction to the bee sting. You can try to use some plain Benadryl to see if the itching will subside. If not I would consult your vet for a treatment paln. The Benadryl can be given in these amounts.
Dosages would be as follows....
Under 30 pounds... 10mg
31-50 pounds...... 25mg
51 and over....... 50mg

Good luck and please post back how you make out with your dog.
