Paw problems

hawki Jul 28, 2007 05:28 PM

I have a 2 y/o border collie and he loves his frisbee and playing with other dogs at the dog park. Unfortunately this play(the cutting and turning) seems to result in him ripping his paw pads. A trainer told me there is some product on the market that could toughen up the pads or I could get him shoes. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so what is a recommended product or shoe brand?

Thanks,
Kristy and Hawkeye

There is a product called Tuff Foot that is used to toughen up pads but I haven't heard of anyone I know that has used it.

Some of my trainers use that product with their agiltiy dogs. Must work to some degree. I've never tried it.
