Compromised Liver/Tapeworms

jtango Aug 08, 2007 04:06 PM

Docs aren't sure what's wrong with Daisy, but they suspect either AIHA or liver cancer. I have her on all the holistic, natural, organic immune support stuff and she is on 20 mg. Prednisone daily. I just started her on a liver cleanse yesterday...her ALP is 2400.

My question: today I found out that she has tapeworms and the doc gave me Praziquantel, but I'm worried about the effect it might have on her already stressed liver. I also searched Male Fern and see that it shouldn't be used in this situation.

Can you put me onto the most benign treatment for her?

Tapeworms at this time are a secondary problem, so you want to use something that will not cause anymore damage to her liver. Try giving her fresh garlic, crushed, which should reduce, if not eliminate the tapeworms. You might also try male fern in a low homeopathic potency such as a 3x. Definitely give her milk thistle twice a day.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Dr. Tobin.

I give her a liver/blood cleanse herbal tincture, which includes Milk Thistle, four times daily and I'm having some Transfer Factor Plus over-nighted.

I have total confidence in the fact that she will recover from this...whatever it is, it's still subject to some guesswork, but I realize that it won't be a quick fix.

I so appreciate a forum like this. Thank you.
