I've read online somewhere that a side effect of prednisone can be a wasting of muscle mass. Would 20 mg. per day for a twenty pound dog be enough to do that to her?

My vet says that she may not have AIHA, but that the anemia may be caused by liver cancer, although he cannot feel a mass. He suspects that because of the loss of muscle mass, but if pred could do that same thing...

I'm just having a hard time not knowing for sure what's wrong with her.

Reading over your previous postings, I gather that your vet doesn't know what is wrong with your dog, but prescribed prednisone. Your dog is now losing weight. Without having a better idea of what is going on, I can't say why he is losing muscle mass.
