My Female Chihuahua is scared of me.....

GodfatherThe Aug 22, 2007 11:21 PM

Background: Two chihuahuas, a boy and a girl (siblings, same age). Had them for the last 4 yrs. They ususally sleep on my parents bed. I have family over, so I gave up my room and I sleep with my dad in my parents bed, and my mom sleeps with my sister in her bed (I know, what a setup! LOL).

2 days ago, I come home from work and the girl is scared of me! She runs away w/ her tail between her legs. She's fine with everyone else but me. My sister takes her in her arms and tries to give her to me, and she freaks out, pees on me and bolts for under the bed. Then overnight, she comes to sleep with me in bed and I wake up next to her. I pet her and everything is fine. She lets me carry her etc.

Then again same thing that night. And again this morning she's fine. And tonight again she's scared. I don't get it!!! It's making me sad

The only thing I can think of is that when I slept I rolled over her and crushed her or something....

Any idea what to do?

Thanks!

Wow, that's strange. Was she abused before you got her? I think when she's scared, it might be best just to give her space--offer a treat but don't try to force her to be held. If it continues or gets worse, you might want to consult a behaviorist.
