Dune, male, intact Rottweiler

kickwallbaby Aug 26, 2007 03:47 PM

Hi,
I have a male Rottweiler that needs a home as soon as possible.
His name is Dune, and he is not mine. He belongs to my cousin.
Please go here for photos and more info.

This situation has got me all sorts of sterssed. I love thsi dog with all my heart, but I cannot take him myself since I have an intact male Pharaoh Hound. They do get along, but I do not have the space or teh time to dedicate to Dune.

Dune has a great disposition! He has papers, but is not standard. He will need to eb neutered before he is placed. I will not allow him go to a new home intact. He is a love bug and wants to please, although he needs a firm leader to show him what is expecetd. He questions commands and does not yet understand boundaries. He is a very good guard dog,and defends all that is his with all of himself.

His current owner is not able to provide for him any longer. He just had a baby and cannot care for any of the 6 dogs that he now has. Dune lives as an outside dog on dirt. There are flies eating the backs of both of his ears, it is so bad that I'm not sure if the fur will grow back or that there will not be scarring.
Dune was just recently bred to a papered, non standard female named Sierra. Together they had five puppies, one female and four males. the female died of exposure when Sierra whelped outside. No one knew what to look for or expect so she was not aided in any way whenshe gave birth. The puppies are living in an outdoor laudry room, and there are flies everywhere, although they are not injured and are in very good condition (so far as Ican see with my eyes).

While re-homing all six dogs may become an issue, I am just trying to move one dog at a time.
Dune needs a new home.
Please contact me at kickwallbaby@hotmail.com if you have any information. I am new to re-homing dogs, but I love them so much, with all my heart, and I really need some guidance.

Thank you,

Ashlie

Please contact the Golden state Rottwieler club and see if they can help get these dogs into rescue. Rottie REscue is experienced at rehoming rotties and will make sure that home checks are done and that new owners will not use the dogs for the wrong purpose www.goldenstaterottclub.com

Thank you for trying to help these dogs

I'm going to try to get him cleaned up. My cousin says that he will do it, but I need some advice on where to get DE (Diatomaceous Earth)because the backs of his ears are so bad. I've searched everywhere locally, and no one has it. my cousin is in Lake Elsinore/Wildomar, does anyone know of a store there that might carry it?
