I new to this forum and am concerned about severe diarrhea after spaying.

After 3 days and trying pumpkin, rice, and fasting 20 hours ... she's still really sick.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi, Ric and welcome to the forum. I've never had this problem after a spaying but I think that you should give the vet a call. The vet may have something that will stop this. There may be another problem other than the spaying. Please let us know how the dog is doing.

Thanks Mary Lou & Katie for your prompt reply.

I've been to the Vet and he prescribed metronidazole at 250 mg every 12 hours.

He states that my BC, Janie has developed a colitis from the physical and emotional stress of spaying.

She has had one pill and will receive another in a few more hours.

Hopefully by the end od another 24 hours; I might see some relief for the poor gal.

I've had Siberian Huskies previously and never had a problem like this. Although I don't know how rough this particular Vet has been with Janie's insides. Too many variables here.
