♠MAJOR JRT ISSUES! HELP!?!

LuvLexi Aug 29, 2007 01:47 PM

My JRT is a year old and just recently started peeing on everything in the house!
Mainly my 5 month old sons stuff such as his swing and siaper bag!
He has also been getting out everyday and runing to my sister in laws house down the street!
He is not fixed! I am wondering if this may be part of the problem!?!
If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!
Thanks!

Hi,
Not being altered could be part of the problem. You might also want to have him checked out by a vet to make sure there are not any physical problems. I've never owned a Jack Russell but understand that they're a very active little dog.

Not being neutered could easily be cause the marking behavior you are describing. I'd be very concerned with him getting out of hte house and leaving. Unwanted puppies are bound to happen in that scenario. I recommend a trip to the vet- there's a shot available in some clinics that can sterilize the dog, but additional shots are required to be permanent. Permanent castration might be a good idea for this wild pup.
