I got myself a Shortie

ecb Aug 30, 2007 09:01 PM

Breeder is in Bangor Maine
she is CUTE, but seems to have some fear agressive issues
but she is going to the door when she needs to go out, and I only got her on Monday (yes 4 days ago)
I am pleased with her
Wish the breader was more "professional"

Definately cute! I think you do need to discuss wit hthe breeder the "fear/aggression" issues you are referring to. I'm not used to terrier puppies, but some things are age approriate (9 week old puppies go through a fear stage and there's another stage a bit later on and again at about 9 months). Do chat with the breeder even thogh you don't seem overly thrilled. If the breeder brushes you off, go to the National Club and ask around for help.

I believe the breeder will not engage in dialogue with me unless I drive to the place he lives
we had her puppy sat instead of a kennel the weekend of my Brothers wedding
the house has 2 VERY well behaved dogs in it
one is a Shep Malamute mix, and the other is a great dane
this puppy is not agressive anymore
she is not one to roll over either, unless its almost a "your turn to roll over now" kinda thing with other puppies
she is FINE leaving bigger dogs alone, its kinda cute watching her grow

the only thing that worries me is when she is getting wild rompus on with other puppies
she has ZERO pain threshold
one puppy split the tip of her ear in puppy class, she never made a sound
my brothers puppy (also a JRT, but wirey coat and a month older) actually dragged her almost 2 feet along the driveway by the cheek (again, no sound, no wimper, no yelp. AND still friends) when we interfeared and broke them up (with vocal commands) they both just looked at us like "whats wrong?"
