New Puppy - Vaccinations

TeamGenji Sep 21, 2007 09:08 PM

Dr. Tobin,

I am in a trouble.

I have posted a message here regarding my new puppy's vaccinations at the end of last month, and since then, I've called almost all vets/animal hospitals in my local area and asked them if they could just one distemper/parvo combo (or separately) first and a rabie shot later on. (My puppy hasn't had any shots yet) They either responded me like I've just arrived on earth from some other planet, or kept saying they didn't understand what I was asking or actually started getting irritated at me. Basically what they said was they would give him series of combo shots no matter what.

Then today I called a holistic vet and they said they could give a distemper/parvo combo shot, BUT they would give him three times 4 weeks apart. Do you think I should just go there once and not go back there again?

Go to the vet and get one distemper/parvo shot now and don't go back if they insist on more. There is no need to argue with them. Just don't go back. If they insist on giving several shots the first time, tell them you can only afford to pay for the office visit and one shot.
