crying puppy

Hi everyone,
I just took home my 8 week old cocker spaniel from the breeder's a few days ago, i keep her crate in the room with all of her toys in the day time so that she can play or lay down in it, also when i give her a treat i give it to her in the crate but nothing seems to make her more comfortable with sleeping in there at night time, does any one have anything in mind to make the crate a more enjoyable place to be?

Most puppies when first taken from mom and the rest of the litter will naturally be scared... especially at 8 weeks. Is the crate in the bedroom with you at night? Somethings to try would be to put a shirt in the crate that you have worn so the puppy can get your scent. I have read of others who have put a hot water bottle(filled with warm water)in the crate to simulate the mothers body heat and lastly an old fashioned ticking clock can be wrapped in a towel to simulate the mother's heartbeat.
