Any one have opinions on this story. Was Ellen D. right or wrong in her actions?

The more I learn about this situation, the more I feel Ellen was totally in the wrong. This is not the first time someone hasn't "fit in". The rescue never alerted the press, Ellen did. The family was offered a chance to go through the adoption procedures and refused. The rescue had an appointment for alter, Ellen did it herself. This whole thing smells fishy to me.

I believe Ellen was totally in the wrong here and tried to use her "celebrity status" to prevail on the hearts of her fan base to bully this rescue group into giving the dog back. I don't have "celebrity status" but when I adopted my first two rescue Shibas I read and understood the contract where it said the dogs had to go back if things didn't work out. Whether Ellen or her partner didn't read the contract or thought they were above it they have done the dog an injustice. I commend the fact that the rescue group was not bullied by her actions and I firmly believe she owes that group a public apology for putting them into a bad light. Maybe she should put her "celebrity status" to better use and work for this group as a community service and educate her fan base on the plight of shelters and rescue groups.
