A type of separation anxiety

Hi, I am having a problem with my dog who is one and a half year old. In the last 6 months she has been having some very strange behaviour. When either my husband or myself go to the door to leave the house Dixie will run from window to window to make sure that she sees us. She seems to be in a frenzy and when you get to the last window she will will bark and cry. This happens when just one of us leaves the house and the other is still with her also. I know that she settles down after a few minutes because I can come back in the house later and she will be stretching and I can feel a warm spot on my bed where she was laying. I have tried Rescue Remedy and that hasn't worked either. I will say that when she was 4 months old she had a UTI and was on medication. During that time her doctor also gave her puppy shots and she was spayed right after that. Too much at one time I have been told. This has bothered me. She hasn't had any other shots since, except her rabies because it's required by law here. Please help! Thank you!

Try to read this book by Patricia McConnell: "I'll be home soon".

We see a bit of the same behavior. Once we are out of sight however Caesar settles down and finishes his lunch. If you know the dog is settling in, I wouldnt worry too much, however if you see destructive behavior starting, I would look at crating when you leave.
