What do you think.

There has been a story happening here that just gets under my skin. Some of you heard it areday but those that havnt here it is.

A tree fell on part of the fence between two houses causing the top part of the fence to fold over. Well last week the dog of the guy that owns the one house got over the fence into the neighbors yard there the lady was playing with her 3 GSDs. The guy then ran into his house got his gun and shot the neighbors one dog killing it. He was in court today and pleaded not guilty. The guy didnt want to talk but his attorney said he shot the dog cuz he feared for his dogs life and that his dog had cuts on him and had to get stiches.

Now I feel that first of all if he feared for his dogs life then he should of been watching the dog when out so he wouldnt get into the neighbors yard and that the cuts on his dog could of come from the fence when he climb over. The lady is very upset cuz she cant have kids so her dogs are them. She also said her dogs love other dogs and were trying to play. They guy has to go back to court next month and can get up to 4 years in jail if found guilty. Now I dont think that guy had the right to shot the dog but thats just me.

If 4 years is all he can get then so be it. I say he would have to prove his dog was at risk and I'm sure any vet would look at the wounds to see if they came from another dog or the fence. Regardless this man is wrong for shooting at anything that was not on his OWN property.

I haven't been following the story so it's very tough to pass judgement on this. I certainly would not take matters into my own hands and shoot a dog no matter what I thought it capable of. I might mace a dog that I feel is very threatening, but that's about as extreme as I'd go and it would have to be pretty dire circumstances for me to even do that.

It's very sad that this had to happen. No matter what thecourts decide, there is no "winner" in this case.
