Are dog feces good fertilizer or is this a danger to your dogs' health? I have a small yard and just want to dispose of my dogs' feces without having to leave it sit in a garbage can for a week.

Until we moved where there is a lot of clay we used a composting product. It is called the doggie dooley. While supposedly dog feces is not supposed to make good compost, the grass around this thing always grew 10x thicker and longer.

It's probably not wise to use dog feces as fertilizer given the amount of parasites that might be present in the stool. You could purchase the doggie dooley as suggested or what I have is a seperate pail with a tight fitting lid that I keep outside behind the shed. It's probably not the best solution but it doesn't stink up the regular garbage cans.

Good advice, thanks.
