Mugsy is driving me crazy

kumachan Nov 29, 2007 08:37 PM

So 14 year-old single kidney Mugsy Chihuahua got into a habit about a year ago of crying for his food. It's been getting worse. He cries this loud, desperate, high pitched, caught in a bear trap cry every morning, and every evening when I get home from work. (The times I feed him.) He's started to jump on me, step on my feet, and follow me incessantly. He does the same thing to my husband - whoever's feeding him.

Behaviorally, I tried a few methods, and nothing has worked. I'm asking you for some kind of herb or anything to get him to relax, especially around breakfast and dinner times.

I could use something to relax too if you have any recommendations. -_-*

(By the way, I've been giving Chloe your recommended medicines and her wet cough seems well under control, thank you!)

It seems like Mugsy has become hungrier, and is asking for more food. Have you changed the diet at all in the past year? If not, is Mugsy's stool well formed, without flatulence, and no vomiting? If so, Mugsy is digesting and absorbing nutrients from the food, so you should have a blood test and urine analysis done, to see if he is losing it somehow, especially through the urine.
