Do you think.....

this is a Lab/Shepherd mix? This is what I was told, but I want to get another opinion. If you have a pic of a dog that looks like our Winnie (at 11 weeks), please can you share.

Thanks,
Shawn

I don't really see shepherd in your puppy at all. I see possibly some lab, but mixed with boxer, great dane, or even maybe a gun dog like a wheimeriner or a pointer. It's a bit hard to tell at 11 weeks though since puppies go through major changes. Also realize that maybe this litter had more than one father and although the people thought they saw a shepherd with their dog, they may have missed seeing a second dog interferring as well.

Thank you Chelle. I guess you never know what you'll get when you rescue a dog. As time moves along, I will update the forum on her growth and development. At times, she reminds me of a red nose pitbull. Like you said, there are many possibilities. I appreciated your response.

Hi Shawn and congrats on your new puppy. I'm sorry about the loss of your other dog. I'm not really to good at this but I think your new pup may be an APBT possibly mixed with another breed. They make an excellent family pet and with some early socialization and a little bit of a firm hand you will have a quality dog for many years. Please keep us updated. It'll be fun to watch Winnie grow up on the board. BTW... you're to be commended for adopting a rescue... I thank you for that.

One of the best, sweetest, most obedient and funny dogs I know is a lab/pit mix. Whatever Winnie is, I'm sure she'll be a great addition to your family.

American pitbull terrier, and possibly some lab of some type.

She's adorable. I don't see the Shepherd, but it's hard to tell sometimes.

No doubt about it she is part Red Nose Pit Bull the other part really cant tell right now but I kinda want to say Boxer or Dane. Post more pictures when she is older, might be able to tell then. I was told my mixed boy was mostly Husky but come to find out he has Dane in him as well but I still love him just the same.

Oh yeah nice looking pup!
