Husky HELP !!!!!

BenDaytonHusky Jan 04, 2008 07:49 AM

Ok, I am leaving home for 19 weeks for a career changing opportunity. Its up to 75% travel during that time for training. I have a 7 month old husky. My father is having major back surgery and is afraid he might reinjure his back trying to let my dog outside. I really do not want to find him a home, he is an amazing dog. Any suggestions on to help my family keep this dog and reassure my family that he will not reinjure my fathers back. Please e-mail me a bmonnette@gmail.com due to my career I will not be able to connect to internet just e-mail.
Thank you for anyone who replies!

If you don't have any other relatives that will take the dog temporarily, you could advertise for foster care during that period. You could come up with a contract that states what you'll pay the person to care for your dog, stipulates that you still own the dog and can reclaim it at any time, visit privileges, and outlines how health care/emergencies are covered.

That way you could visit it often while still maintaining your work commitments.

You could try Craigslist.com... it's free.

Good luck,

Walt

I would suggest contacting the Husky Rescue group in your area. Sometimes they have foster parents that would agree to take your dog until your emergency situation has passed. It's a long shot, but it couldn't hurt to ask.
