good food??

Hi everyone, I was wandering what you all thought about eukanuba. Is it at least better than purina puppy chow? Or how much better is it than a food like canidae? That is my other choice.

Canidea hands down when given the choice between those 3. The reputation of the company alone is enough to make me choose that, but there are other reasons as well- better ingredient list is also a factor. I could break it down further if you like.

Yeah im for sure getting canidae now. Ive always thought eukanuba was a good food, but i got to looking at the ingredients and theres not much of a difference between that and purina. If anyone has tried canidae let me know how it worked for you!!

I use Purina One Weight Managment. I pick the brand by what's in the food rather than the brand name. I pick the one that had meat listed first. My dogs are older and smaller that is why I use weight management.

Meat is a great first ingredient, but what's listed after the meat on the list? Is it a grain like corn or wheat? Maybe it's corn and wheat or wheat and flour which when you add up the total amount of grains, it's still more than the amount of protein. Even worse, corn, wheat, rice especially the "meal" versions of them have a fairly high percentage of protein in them so the majority of the protein in the food is really coming from vegatables and not real meat.

Now, I realize dogs are omnivores, but the protein I want to feed my dogs should come from meat and the grains that I am going to feed my dogs will be whole grains and not grain fractions that are essentailly cheap fillers. Just my humble opinion.
