Puppy Chipped Tooth

JayBarnes Jan 10, 2008 04:03 PM

Hello all. Earlier today me and my 3 month and about 2 week old husky were on a walk when he bit the leash, pulled, and chipped his upper left canine off. It chipped leaving just a small portion of the tooth exposed out of the gum. He has already lost a couple of his baby teeth and I was worried that this chipped tooth may cause problems with him shedding the tooth normally. I'm worried about the poor guy, his tooth bleed when it chipped but he showed no signs of pain. At what age have your huskies lost their teeth? Do you think I should worry to much about this? Thanks...

I would have the Vet look at it, but worst case is probably the tooth dies and has to be pulled. I don't think this should be any problem. I'm no expert, but I think the Adult front teeth come in around 3-4 months of age.

Good luck and enjoy your pup!

I called the vet yesterday and got their opinion on it. She said it should be fine and to just keep an eye on it. Thanks
