Lost my baby

maccawolf Jan 19, 2008 08:21 AM

Hi, I"m new to this board (or any Husky board actually,)
Last weekend, I lost my 18 year old baby, and miss him terribly.
Although there is a collie in the house, he's DAD'S, not mine. I would dearly love to find someone else to love and share my life with. I have tried contacting Husky house, and looked for rescue locally. (being in Northern NJ, there isn't much around here), but was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. I am REALLY hoping for a 1-2 year old already housebroken, and not a puppy as I don't have the time right now to train one properly.

Any suggestions?

Hi maccawolf and welcome to the Siberian Husky forum. I'm very sorry for the loss of your dog. Hopefully one of the Husky members here can point you in the right direction to adopt another Husky. Have you tried looking on Petfinder or the AKC website for breeders or rescues?

Sorry for the loss of your "baby" I know it's hard to lose a longtime companion. I don't have a Sibe but do have 3 Shiba Inu's. I just did a search on Petfinder using my area code and there were many Husky's listed on it. Maybe you might have the same results. Good luck with your search and post back if you find a new dog.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your dog. How very sad.

Have you checked Petfinder? They tend to have listings from a lot of different rescues.

I am sorry for the loss of your dog. It is wonderful that you have had 18 yrs. That is unusual for a husky from what I have heard. I have a 13 yr old female and a 6 yr old daughter. I dread the day I have to explain to my 6 yr old that her dog & best friend to all of us wont be here forever. Did you notice any odd behaviors or warning signs that I should watch out for? I am also new to this forum stuff and hoping to get better at it.
