When I got my dog (not a wolf dog), I really depended on advice from the breeder. One thing the breeder did, which was helpful, was this: I gave her a towel and she rubbed it on my dog's mother. My dog slept with that towel and was comforted by the scent. She even enjoyed the towel after I washed it. I also had lots and lots of chew toys of different textures for her. I think crate training is very helpful too. Also have a camera handy! Puppies grow up way too fast and it's fun to have pictures.
