Has anyone had a Siberian Husky 13 or older? Mine just turned 13 and has started wanting to be by herself alot. We have an attached garage and she wants to be out there all the time lately. She always slept in our room until recently. We thought it was getting hard to handle the 15 stairs, so we started letting her stay downstairs. Now she stands at the garage door and barks until we let her out there. I am worried that she is detaching herself from us. Any info would help!

I don't have a husky and so can't offer any advice but I'm sure others will respond. Has she been to the vet to see if she's OK?

This behavior just started this past week, Im not sure if it is because the garage is heated but cooler than the house. I am going to call the vet, it is time for her yearly check up anyway.

Our husky only lived to be about 7. But he loved being in the garage. The cement is a lot cooler to them. He always preferred to be out there than with us. Interestingly, my 3 other huskies don't like to be out there. But Otis loved it.
