What is the min protein recommended to give a growing puppy? My pup's about 5 weeks old right now. Took a pic only to find out that now I gotta find the plug to hook my camera up to my computer. Anyways...
Was doing a mix of Royal Canine puppy chow (what the breeder gave me)that I ran out of and Iam's Large breed puppy chow (what I got) mixed with some wet food to soften it up for her.
What's a list of good dry kibble that people recommend?
What's too yound for raw meats? Anything wrong with mixing kibble and ground meat? What's a good way to make sure the pup's getting a good amount of calcium?

Those are a lot of questions to ansewr in one post and many of the answers depend on what you believe the diet should be- more carnivore vs. more omnivore.

I'd grab a book called 'Give Your Dog A Bone' by Dr. Billinhurst and go from there to design your pups diet.

If you want to feed strictly kibble, there's no such thing as too much protein in kibble form.

If you are going to suppliment- Just adding ground meat doesn't cut it though. It needs to be balanced out with the right amount of calcium and phosphorous. That's done with whole animals. I use canned salmon for my dogs or raw eggs with the shells. Chicken backs are available from the butcher.

Any of them worth their weight in air will tell you that a wolf or wolfdog should never be fed dogfood, it causes them serious loose stool, and they do not do good on it.
All of those who keep wolves and wolfdogs sucessfully and healthy use the raw diet only. With any dog it makes a big difference, but theres no comparison with wolfdogs, wolves, and northern breed dogs when you compare any dogfood to the raw diet.

This contains links to every fact, and section, to studies, and articles from the experets in canine biology.
This is a great article, long, but a great read.
I would never feed dogfood to any dog, raw is the only way to go.
