If there is any actual broken skin, see the veterinarian promptly. But for dry skin, I've had great results with mixing Alpha Keri bath oil, about 1/2 cup to 2 cups of water in a spray bottle, spraying it on the dog and rubbing it into the skin. My Standard Poodle had been swimming every day for 2 weeks before coming to me, and it rained right at first here, too. I was prepared to repeat the application more times, but twice seems to have done it for now. You could apply it every day if you want to!
If you get the coat oiler than you want, you can either wait a few days for it to work its way through, or simply apply more warm water to the coat and buff dry with a towel.
It looks really nice on my Worthy!
