Question for you lizard experts

I just gave in and checked on Bam Bam and Pebbles. They are resting between two layers of paper towels. Bam Bam is kind of standing on all 4 legs but Pebbles is laying down. Both of their eyes were open and alert looking. Is this how they act when they are getting ready to brumate? I guess if they both want to brumate I have to just let them. Thanks for your help
