Nutering

I have a 12 week old puppy and would like to know when is the best time to have him nutered? I have heard so many differnt things and Id like your opinion.

It is probably best to neuter him around 6 months of age. Shortly after that they become sexually mature, so the secondary sexual characteristics are well developed. At sexual maturity males become interested in females, and if there is a female in heat anywhere in the neighborhood, the male will seek her out, not paying attention to anything else around him, including cars and larger dogs. So in order to reduce the likelihood that he may get hit by a car or chewed up by another dog, have him neutered before sexual maturity.
