iluvbirds56 Apr 26, 2008 08:10 AM

Hi Dr this is a question about my daughters cat.She was urinating around the house just in the last week. She took her to the vet and she has a bladder infection. Not bad just slight. She got a shot and meds.On the advice of you cranberry has helped our dog so much!I just watch her closely and put cranberry in her food every other day.Now will this do the same for our felines? If so whats the dosage? Thanks!

Cranberry concentrate will work in cats just as it does in dogs and people. Many cats don't care for fruits and vegetables, so for cats I prefer to use d-mannose, which is the active component in cranberries for treating E. coli infections. It should be available in health food stores. Adding about 1/8 tsp per meal to the cat's food should be sufficcient.
