I am worried about my female pug. We do not know her due date this time around, do to my stud not performing on the days that he should have. We managed an early breeding, and a late one. Honestly I did not think he managed to get her pregnant because of this. BUT HE DID! She is due between the 23rd, and the 4th.
I took her in a few days ago for X rays for head count. This is her third and last birthing. Her first one she only had 1 pup. Second 5 pups. As if that wasn't a lot of pups the second time... The vet came out from X rays and told me he could not determine the amount of pups in her. There were too many to tell! He said he counted at least 6 pups. But he thinks there is more like 7, 8 or more! Average pug litter size is 3-4 pups... I am worried she has too many?! Should I be worried??? She did not need a C-section in any of her births. But did need a shot for her last birth to push the last pup out as it did not move down into the birth canal like the others did. The shot worked within minutes though. I am just worried about so many pups in her, perhaps blocking the exit, or tiring her down, or...??? Should I be worried??
