Color Change

Lazybug Jun 10, 2008 02:02 PM

I have a 3 1/2 mo old Pom pup. When he was 8 wks he had a dark muzzle, blue/grey mane, and a large grey saddle on his back. He is now losing his coat, which I know is the norm, but he has lightened up considerably, the blue/grey colors he used to have are almost gone, his dark muzzle is gone and he has gotten almost creamy, but with black tips. I know you can't be sure, but what is your best guess as to what color he'll turn out to be. Will that creamy color take over or the dark come back with his new coat? Just curious, he's cute what ever color he is !

It's hard to say without actually seeing the dog but your correct that he is losing his puppy coat. The color change is natural just as it is with my breed the Shiba Inu. It'll all depend on the dominate color of your pup. The cream shouldn't take over completely. Most Poms I have seen are close to the same red color as my Shibas
