What is she!!!!

*Sorry I'm posting twice couldn't get the picture to work!

Hey guys I got this puppy, she was dumped with seven other puppies at a ladies house and the other puppies were taken to a shelter but I got lucky enough to get her. I have had her for 6 weeks we think she's getting close to 4 months but because she was dumped the vet says we won't really know till her age until she loses her puppy teeth. She's very hyper and extremely smart however she is very shy around new people but warms up after a few hours. I love her very much, she's pretty much my world but I just don't have a clue what she is! She's 17.5 pounds right now (8lbs 6 weeks ago) and has very very large pointy ears (although you can't tell in the picture) and a curled tail. I just can't figure it out! Thanks for your help.

Well it's always hard to tell when they are puppies. Maybe another picture of her standing would help... but just to take a guess... maybe a Lab/Shepherd mix?? No matter what she is a real cutie!!

Hard to tell at that age, but she looks like a lab or lab cross to me. They get easier to identify as they get older.

We have owned three lab cross-breeds in the last 17 years (lab/ches bay- lab/rot- and lab/weim and the black coat w/white on chest seems to be a VERY dominant gene, as all of them looked like your pup. As others have said, you will get a better idea as they approach adulthood. The short black coat certainly looks black lab, but the body type of the black lab seems to be resessive as all of our dogs body type looked like the other breed. In any case, enjoy your pup.

I would guess Shepherd/Lab mix.
