Proin 75

kekoa Jul 07, 2008 05:37 PM

My female husky was having leakage - I took her to the vet to said it wasn't a urinary infection and put her on Proin 75. The Proin 75 is causing her problems - she isn't herself at all - sluggish, etc. The vet said she has to be on this the rest of her life. Is there a better natural approach that will not effect her as badly as Proin does? Is this something she needs for the rest of her life?

If the leakage is not due to an infection, it is likely due to a hormonal problem. Try giving her a menapause remedy that contains black cohosh, which you will probably find in a health food store. Whatever it is that stops the leaking, she will probably have to be on it for the rest of her life.

I have also read it could be a deficiency in her diet. Have you heard of that as a cause? I don't mind if she has to have it the rest of her life but Proin 75 is making her listless and stop eating. WHen I take her off of it - by the next day she is happy, active and eating again.

This is a hormonal problem, not a dietary deficiency.
