Cleaning stick for terruim....

I have recently bought a tokay to add to my collection of reptiles I went to a local park and found a couple nice branches and sticks I was wondering how I can clean them so they are safe for my tank.Ive heard about soaking and baking them but Im not sure how to do so. any info would be great THANKS

Here's what I do: If you can immerse the branch completly in a bleach/water solution that do that. If you can't fit it into anything than make up a spray bottle and give it a few good sprays, maybe every half hour for 3 or 4 times. Now take the branch and let it dry in the sun. Now pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees or so and bake it in the oven for a half hour or an hour (keep an close eye on it although you shouldn't have to worry about it catching fire at such a low temp.) Turn off the oven and let the branch cool right in the oven for a couple of hours and you should have a healthy/sterile branch for your new pet. Good luck, Scott.
