I have a male and female chihuahua both 7. I had an appointment to get them fixed and my brother was babysitting them and forgot the female was in heat put them in the cage together. 3 weeks later I noticed the female was milking. I brought her to the vet he thought she had a uterus infection $300 later no infection. I brought her back when she would have been 25 days he said he thinks it's a false. She has 2 weeks left and seems very pregnant. I can feel movements seems to be more at night. I brought her back and he did an xray felt her and said he feels a mass but it may be a tumor or and infection. The xray showed nothing he said. And the chemistry of the milk has a few inflammation cells. He gave me antibiotics for 2 weeks then I'm to bring her back because if the mass doesn't disappear he wants to operate. He says that she doesn't seem to be in pain and it is a very mild infection. How could that cause the mass? The mass that seems to move. And could he be wrong about the xray? Can anyone make sense of this for me please!!!!!!

It's always good to get a second opinion from another vet when you question what one vet says. It does sound like she could be pregnant, but false pregnancies can/do happen as well as uterine infections. Good luck and I hope you and your pup get some answers soon.
