First a little background..
About a month ago my 3.5 year old 12 lb miniature pinscher was bit by a copper head snake on the face. After a terrifying 24 hours, she came back home with us and was put on antibiotics and recovered wonderfully.
About a week after the incident she developed a small raised hairless bump on her behind. It doesn't seem to bother her at all unless I touch it and then she pulls away.
I took her to my regular vet this morning and they used a syringe to get a sample. At first they thought that it might be a spider bite since she is over 3 and ruled out a histiocytoma, but after looking at it under the microscope they decided that it was either the histiocytoma or a basal cell tumor.(They said it was more likely the first)
Currently we decided for me to just watch it and if there is any change or if it starts to bother her then I can have it removed. They gave me Gentocin topical spray to put on it a couple times a day.
They said the two incidents were not related but I wanted to ask your opinion about the whole thing, both diagnosis and treatment.
(I can post a picture if you would like, just let me know)
Thank you so much for your help!
