Salivary Gland Blocked

AshHug23 Sep 26, 2008 10:07 AM

My 13 year old yorkie-poo has recently started having a problem with her left salivary gland. My vet has told me that it's blocked due to a stone apparently. He has emptied the cyst 2 times, the most recent was 2 days ago and it has already filled back up quite a bit. He told me before that if it continued to keep filling up so quickly he would need to do surgery and remove the gland. My question is are there any homeopathic or alternative treatments other than surgery to fix the problem?

It is important to know if the salivary duct is blocked by a stone, or is there infection or swelling in the duct that is blocking it. You might try giving homeopathic Mercurius solubilis 30 c daily to clear the duct.

What dosage do I need to give her? She only weighs about 4-5 lbs..I see that this comes in pellets, so how many would she need daily?

Crush one pellet and drop the powder directly into her mouth, without food, twice a day.
