Miss P went back to the vet this morning for a recheck of her CHF. She has lost 3 lb in the last week. I noticed Tuesday that she wasn't eating right. I talked to the doc and he had me quit giving her the antibotics, hoping that would increase her appetite. It didn't. He also checked her potassium levels. They were slightly low. He changed her meds from Lasix to Enalapril. She now gets a 5 mg tab twice a day. She goes back next Friday for a recheck. She has quit her hacking cough though.

Pansy is now taking one of the meds that my mother took after her valve replacement surgery last year. I know the kids really love Mama but this is taking sharing WAY too far.

At first I thought wow that's something! Sharing medicine! What next!

Then I thought - I share my bed, my food, and my car with my pups. It's just the next step.

Thinking of you

Harry

I'm hoping that you can get Pansy's meds all worked out.

It's like walking a tightrope keeping a pup's weight lower for their health. It helps ease joints and puts less strain on the heart. Then it's a worry to put weight on. It's never ending with these kids.

Knowing you, you're worrying your head off!

Wish I could do something more then saying a prayer.

Thinking of you.

Best wishes

Just one more thing for yuo to worry about. I certainly hope that the meds change helps Pansy get back on track.
BTW.. just look at the price of a gallon of gas on that gas pump. ::::sigh::::

I hope the new medication will help and she will be able to put on some weight. Give her a hug for me.

I also hope the new meds help.

We did alot of med sharing as the pups got older. It's a constant struggle.

Dogs and cats come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.
